Launchpad

The story behind Launchpad

About Launchpad.

Someone is building the future — you just haven't found them yet. Launchpad exists to change that.

Why we exist

Discovery without gatekeepers

Most great projects die in a tab nobody opens. Launchpad is a launchpad in the literal sense: a place where solo builders, students, open-source maintainers and small teams can put what they made in front of real people. No followers required, no algorithms deciding who gets seen, no invite-only club. You submit, the community decides what rises.

Everything is transparent. Rankings are computed from measurable activity — upvotes, views, and clicks — not from opaque scores. Sponsorship exists, but it is always labelled, and it never changes how the organic directory works.

Three steps

How Launchpad works

1

Submit your project

Paste your website or GitHub URL — Launchpad detects the source and fetches the name, description, stars, forks, license and a preview image automatically. Upload your own previews, pick a category, and send it for review.

2

Get approved & discovered

A quick moderation pass keeps spam out. Once approved, your project appears in Explore, is searchable and filterable by category, and can be upvoted, saved, commented on and shared.

3

Grow your rank

Upvotes on your projects level you up through creator ranks — from Spark to Supernova — and your avatar carries your rank everywhere on Launchpad. The Leaderboard ranks projects by upvotes, views and clicks, updated live.

Sponsorship, done honestly

Featured placements & Homepage auctions

Featured

A fixed-price Featured promotion pins your project to the top of Explore for its duration, clearly badged. When it ends, it ends — your project simply returns to its organic place.

Homepage auctions

The Homepage runs five slots: one organic pick chosen by Launchpad, and paid slots won through open auctions. Bid, win, pay through Razorpay, and your project rotates on the Homepage for three days — always labelled Sponsored.

Payments are handled by Razorpay with server-side signature verification, and every promotion is activated atomically in the database — expiry, auctions and activations run on a schedule, not by luck. Sponsors get visibility; the community keeps an unpaid, unskewed directory.

Server-rendered pages keep the directory fast and indexable. The database does the heavy lifting — vote counts, view and click tracking, creator ranks and promotion lifecycles are all enforced in Postgres with Row Level Security, so the rules hold even if the UI doesn't.
